The starting location is a short drive from Seneca, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Highway 11 to Little River stretch of Oconee Creek is 1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.     There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This section is very short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. The Highway 11 to Little River stretch is the only paddling stretch along Oconee Creek. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in South Carolina are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. Briefly about the general area: During the warm days of summer at Oconee Creek highs are typically in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while Oconee   Creek overnight low temperatures all through the winter are in the 20's. Oconee Creek gets much water; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and April on the other hand is the driest.
