If you're coming from Brevard it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of South Carolina and the cool fresh water have people coming here. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room
before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Oilcamp Road stretch of Oilcamp creek in South Carolina is 1.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III(IV) section. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the
rivers here more forgiving, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The wild scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains is great. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. Oilcamp creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Oilcamp Road stretch is the only one.

with most of the rain while January is ordinarily the driest month. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains will keep you coming back many times. Rainbow Falls is a striking place to check out while you're at Oilcamp creek. The warmest time of the year
at Oilcamp creek comes with high temperatures in the 80's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 60's. Highs all through the wintertime are regularly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Oilcamp creek are in the 20's. Cleveland Cliff is an out of the ordinary location to go to while at Oilcamp creek, and a great location to check out is Lower Gap.
