The starting location is a reasonable drive from Brevard, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of Greenville County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. This stretch of Oilcamp creek in Greenville County is 1.5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III(IV) section by American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for
a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is wonderful. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in South Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget
that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes. Oilcamp creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Oilcamp Road stretch is the only one.
