The wonderful South Carolina scenery and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The put-in is not too far from Brevard, as you can see on the road map further down. When you're paddling down a Blue Ridge Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in South Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure
to keep you coming back for more. This is a short paddling stretch so no need to bring snacks. This section of Oilcamp creek in Greenville County is 1.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III(IV) section. There are campgrounds quite near the river where
you can camp. This is the only paddling section along Oilcamp creek. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
