Greenville
county,
Log Shoals Road to West Georgia Road section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II+(III) 2.6 miles
Have floated this section several times. On 6-10-07 put in W. Ga. to New Harrison, also good float, a few trees. typ. Says Clifford DeYoung
The beautiful scenery of South Carolina and the cool fresh water beats anything. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Greenville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This section is quite short so better bring some good walking shoes. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Getting some good exercise and just
hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in South Carolina tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so
if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
