The starting location is a short drive from Greenville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you wonít get lost. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in South Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections in this
    state are pretty easy. The scenic beauty of Greenville County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is a pretty short
section so no need to bring snacks. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. Lodging is available near the river, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch of Reedy River is 2.6 miles long and has been rated as a class II+(III) section by American Whitewater. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Log Shoals Road  
to West Georgia Road stretch is just one of them.

Briefly about the general area:
A visit to Dacus Shoals will fill your soul with good feelings, and Reedy River is a location with many visitors from Mauldin. Paris Mountain State Park is a great site to stop by. At Reedy River during the summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 50's while Reedy River night low temperatures during the winter are in the 30's. Reedy River sees pretty high levels of rain. The month with most of the rain is March, and September is when it's the driest.
