The natural beauty of Anderson County and the water flowing gracefully down Rocky River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. This stretch of Rocky River in Anderson County is 0.2 miles long and has been rated as a class III section by American Whitewater. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more.
This section is very short so better bring some good walking shoes. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There's camping available near Rocky River. The put-in
location is a short drive from Anderson, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This is the only paddling stretch along Rocky River. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots.
