South Carolina whitewater - Saluda River, Greenville/ Pickens County
Greenville/ Pickens
county,
Saluda Dam to South Carolina Route 86 in Piedmont section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II 16 miles
3/31/2007 This was a nice trip. Put in behind Riverside Tavern on Hwy124, went to Hwy86 in Piedmont. Only scratched the boats a couple times in the few small rapid areas. You will have to paddle about the last 4 or 5 miles due to the back water from the Piedmont dam. Trip took 5.5 hours at this time of the year with good flow in the river. I expected it to take much longer and paddled a bit every now and then. Some fallen trees but no problem going right thru them. Will defiantly go again for a relaxing day on the river. Says Hardrock
