The nature scenery of South Carolina and the water flowing gracefully down Saluda River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you're coming from Greenwood it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in South Carolina are often more forgiving than in other states, so don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. The SR 247 to US25 section
is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this
site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people.
