If you're coming from Greenwood it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in South Carolina are often more forgiving than in other states, so don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. The SR 247 to US25 section     is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: Summer at Saluda River comes with high temperatures in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Saluda River. Saluda River is a quite wet place commonly with a lot of precipitation; of all the months   in a year March is the one with the most rain; September on the other hand is the driest.
