This stretch of Sixmile Creek in Pickens County is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. The campgrounds here at Sixmile Creek are pretty good. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature     will have you coming back for more. The wonderful South Carolina scenery and the cool fresh water have people coming here. Sixmile Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Jones Mill Road to Lake Issaqueena stretch is the only one. The starting location is a short drive from Seneca, as you can see on the road map further down. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Lots of rainfall falls at Sixmile Creek; March is when you get the most rain here while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. For the period of the long summer days highs here at Sixmile Creek get into the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's.
