Whitewater rafting and kayaking in South Carolina is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Highway 283 to SR 23 stretch is the only paddling stretch along Stevens Creek.
