You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting     some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This section of Whitewood Creek in South Dakota is 8 miles long and is a class III+(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewood Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Highway 14A to Whitewood stretch is the only one. The wild scenery of the Black Hills is great. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip.
