The wonderful Tennessee scenery and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Bee Creek to Caney Fork section of Bee Creek is 8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-V section of whitewater. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Crossville, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Tennessee are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy.
Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The beautiful Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is an added bonus. You
might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There are no other sections to paddle along Bee Creek than the Bee Creek to Caney Fork section.
Briefly about the general area: Bee Creek sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is March, and the driest month is October. High temperatures at Bee Creek through the days of summer are in the 80's with
nighttime lows in the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Bee Creek tend to be in the 20's. If you're here at Bee Creek, checking out Copper Cliff is a must.
