The natural beauty of Tennessee and the water flowing gracefully down Big Brush Creek make the trip here worthwhile. The put-in is not too far from Chattanooga, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This section of Big Brush Creek in Tennessee is 8.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-V+ section. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling
rivers. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Tennessee are often more challenging than in other states, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. The beauty
of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great plus for this river. The Bridge on FS road off Highway 8/111 to Highway 127 stretch is the only paddling stretch along Big Brush Creek. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came.
