Tennessee whitewater - Bledsoe Creek, Sumner County Sumner county, Ford west of Greenfield Road to Old Union Recreation Area section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I-II     5 miles   Bledsoe creek was a real let down. The only time to go to this is if there has been atleast one inch of rain the previous day before you go. When we got there it was a dried up creek bed so there was no rafting for us that day; we just had to settle on practicing our rolls. The scenic beauty of Tennessee and the playfulness of the water beats anything. There     are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. This is the only paddling section along Bledsoe Creek. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Tennessee tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Bledsoe Creek, and the overnight is quite colder of course, frequently   in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while Bledsoe Creek overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 20's.
