Tennessee whitewater - Bledsoe Creek, Sumner County Sumner county, Ford west of Greenfield Road to Old Union Recreation Area section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I-II     5 miles   Bledsoe creek was a real let down. The only time to go to this is if there has been atleast one inch of rain the previous day before you go. When we got there it was a dried up creek bed so there was no rafting for us that day; we just had to settle on practicing our rolls. Says Sean This section of Bledsoe Creek in Tennessee is 5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance     you're all set. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. The wonderful Sumner County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. This is the only paddling section along Bledsoe Creek. Briefly about the general area: Bledsoe Creek gets much water; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through the months of summer at Bledsoe Creek highs are commonly in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's.
