Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Tennessee is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The beautiful scenery of Hamilton County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. This stretch of Board Camp Creek in Hamilton County is -blank- miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class |

IV-V section. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The river winds through the Cumberland Plateau Mountains and you get great scenery. Board Camp Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Jones
| Gap Road to Soddy Creek section is the only one.
Briefly about the general area:
Board Camp Creek is a wet spot that gets a good deal of rainfall; through the month of March you get the most rain around here; October is when it's the driest. High temperatures at Board Camp Creek throughout the summer are in the 80's while night lows are regularly in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Board Camp Creek dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights.
