The Barker Camp Road to Bowater Parking lot stretch of Cain Creek is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. The nature scenery of Sequatchie/ Hamilton County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Tennessee are often tougher
than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Chattanooga.
Whitewater paddling here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great experience. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.

is down through the wintertime temperatures at Cain Creek descend into the 20's. Little Bend is something you shouldn't miss if you're here at Cain Creek, and Redbird Point is very near and is a pleasant place to stop by. Cain Creek sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the
month with most of the rain is March, and the driest of the months is October. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff truly is plentiful here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. A cool spot to stop by in the neighborhood of Cain Creek is Big Bend.
