The starting location is a reasonable drive from Harriman. This section of Clear Creek in Morgan County is 4.5 miles long and it is classified as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are so many stretches to paddle     in this river system, the Barnett Bridge to Jett Bridge stretch is just one of many. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. The wild scenery of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great. The wonderful Morgan County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Clear Creek a wet place; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture.   Through the long summer days, highs usually are in the 80's at Clear Creek, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Clear Creek.
