Tennessee whitewater - Clear Creek, Cumberland Plateau Mountains, Morgan County Morgan county, Barnett Bridge to Jett Bridge section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I-III     4.5 miles   This stretch of Clear Creek in Morgan County is 4.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III section. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. The beautiful Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance     because these hotels fill up quick. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. The Barnett Bridge to Jett Bridge section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Harriman. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The wonderful Tennessee scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The campgrounds here at Clear Creek are pretty good. Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the months of summer here at Clear Creek, high temperatures typically reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's, and through   the dark hours in the wintertime at Clear Creek temperatures fall to the 20's. Clear Creek is a pretty wet place ordinarily with much rain; March is the month that gets the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest.
