The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The natural beauty of Morgan County and the water flowing gracefully down Clear Creek are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The starting point is not too far from Harriman. There are campgrounds     quite near the river where you can camp. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The river winds through the Cumberland Plateau Mountains and you get great scenery. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Jett to Lilly section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Briefly about the general area: It's always perfect to stop by The Grunch Rapids, and do put some time aside to spend at Lilly Rapids if you're here at Clear Creek.   Yep, outdoors cool things truly is plentiful here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Clear Creek is a wet place that gets lots of rainfall; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain while October is commonly the driest month.
