The beautiful scenery of Tennessee and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. The Lilly to Nemo section of Clear Creek in Tennessee is 7.5 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem     but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. There's camping available near Clear Creek. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Lilly to Nemo section is just one of them. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. The wild scenery of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great. The starting location is a short drive from Harriman. Briefly about the general area: All the water falling down from the sky makes Clear Creek a wet place; March is the wettest month with most rain; October is when it's the driest.   A trip to Canoe Hole Rapids will fill your soul with great feelings, and Obed Wild & Scenic River is a splendid spot nearby. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Widow Maker Rapids. Through the summer at Clear Creek highs are commonly in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are frequently in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Clear Creek.
