The beautiful scenery of Tennessee and the water flowing gracefully down Clear Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Tennessee is often tougher than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The Lilly to Nemo stretch of Clear Creek is 7.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-IV section. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number     of good rivers. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whitewater paddling here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great experience. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Clear Creek gets a good deal of water; the month with most of the rain is March while October is ordinarily the driest month. All year is a great time in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains if you go for the outdoors. A visit to Clear Creek wouldn't be   complete without taking a look at Widow Maker Rapids. Canoe Hole Rapids is an inspiring place to stop by while here, and the vistas at Obed Wild & Scenic River will blow your mind. At Clear Creek all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Clear Creek.
