If you're coming from Harriman it's not a long drive at all to the starting location. The beautiful scenery of Morgan County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Tennessee are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very     popular destination. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whitewater paddling here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great experience. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. Briefly about the general area: Canoe Hole Rapids is always fun to check out, and if you haven’t been to Obed Wild & Scenic River, you ought to schedule some time for it if you're here. If you want a delightful time in the great outdoors just come   on up to the Cumberland Plateau Mountains. Widow Maker Rapids is a wonderful local attraction. Clear Creek ordinarily gets lots of precipitation; during the month of March you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is October.
