CLASS II+ 10 miles
Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Tennessee is often tougher than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The Brewster Bridge to Burnt Mill Bridge stretch of Clear Fork is 10 miles long and is a class II+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. You might
have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. The put-in location is a reasonable
drive from Harriman. The wonderful Tennessee scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. The beautiful Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is an added bonus. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Brewster Bridge to Burnt Mill Bridge section is just one of them.
