The wonderful Scott County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. This stretch of Clear Fork in Scott County is 10 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II+ section. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The put-in location is a short drive from Harriman. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Brewster Bridge to Burnt Mill Bridge section
is just one of many. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. The beautiful Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is an added bonus. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers
here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area: You have to beyond doubt visit Horseshoe Bend if you're here at Clear Fork; Meeting Bend is an attention-grabbing
spot to pop by while at Clear Fork. Through the summer months here at Clear Fork, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's while overnight lows are generally in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's while Clear Fork nighttime low temperatures
throughout the winter are in the 20's. The high level of rain makes Clear Fork a relatively wet place; the wettest month of the year is usually March, that's the one that rains the most while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains.
