The put-in location is a reasonable drive from La Follette. The natural beauty of Campbell County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Some people prefer whitewater rafting
and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here. This stretch of Cumberland River - Clear Fork is 3 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in
advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Tennessee tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The beauty of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great plus for this river. The campgrounds here at Cumberland River - Clear Fork are pretty good. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother
nature have a lot of people coming here.
Briefly about the general area: A visit to Pink Root Hollow is always fun. The warmest time of the year at Cumberland River - Clear Fork comes with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. All through the
winter highs are frequently in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Cumberland River - Clear Fork are in the 20's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Cumberland River - Clear Fork a wet site; March is the wettest month with most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest.
