The Eastland Road to Caney Fork section of Clifty Creek is 0.98 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V section. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The starting location is a short drive from Crossville. Clifty Creek doesn't have a lot     of paddling stretches, the Eastland Road to Caney Fork stretch is the only one. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch is very short so better bring some good walking shoes. The wonderful Tennessee scenery and the cool fresh water have people coming here. Whitewater paddling here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great experience. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Briefly about the general area: Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Clifty Creek, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily in the 40's,   and through the dark hours in the winter at Clifty Creek temperatures plunge to the 20's.
