This section of Conasauga Creek is 3 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV(V+) section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The wild scenery of the Great Smoky Mountains is great. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better
reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The campgrounds here at Conasauga Creek are pretty good. The natural beauty of Monroe County and the water flowing gracefully down Conasauga Creek beats anything. This is the only paddling section along Conasauga Creek. This
is a bit of a short stretch so no need to bring snacks.
Briefly about the general area: While you're here at Conasauga Creek you can take a hike along the Conasauga Falls Trail. Conasauga Creek sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is generally March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is October. At Conasauga Creek during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows at Conasauga Creek throughout the winter usually drop into the 20's.
