Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Tennessee are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camping stuff. Crab Orchard Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Flat Rock Ford to Oakdale section is the only one. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
