The starting point is not too far from Crossville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Tennessee is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This section of Daddy's Creek in Cumberland County is 13 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while
will make you glad you came. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Whitewater paddling here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great experience. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. There
are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Sutton Dam to Antioch Bridge stretch is one of them. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The wonderful Cumberland County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here.
Briefly about the general area: No need to travel far to
check out interesting stuff like Horseshoe Bend, and as expected, A tour to Keating Hollow is always fun. Summertime highs at Daddy's Creek commonly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and all through
the dark hours in the winter at Daddy's Creek temperatures sink to the 20's. Daddy's Creek is a pretty wet place commonly with a large amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is October. Be careful coming
to the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, you might not ever wanna return home again. Little Horseshoe Bend is a fine spot to go to while in the vicinity.
