This stretch of Doublecamp Creek in Monroe County is 3.17 miles long and has been rated as a class IV section by American Whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Knoxville, as you can see on the road map further down. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less
manageable. The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is a great plus for this river. There are no other stretches to paddle along Doublecamp Creek than the to Citico Creek stretch. This stretch is short so no need to bring snacks. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors
are great reasons to come. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The campgrounds here at Doublecamp Creek are pretty good.
