The Gap Road to Piney River at Spring City section of Duskin Creek in Bledsoe Rhea County is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd     better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. The wonderful Tennessee scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are no other stretches to paddle along Duskin Creek than the Gap Road to Piney River at Spring City stretch. The beauty of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great plus for this river. Briefly about the general area: Duskin Creek is a quite wet place frequently with a lot of rainfall; March is when   you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is October. Put some time aside to spend at Stinging Fork Falls while you're here at Duskin Creek. Throughout the summer months here at Duskin Creek, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's while overnight lows are typically in the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Duskin Creek.
