There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance     then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. The beautiful scenery of Carter County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. Briefly about the general area: During the summer highs here at Elk River get into the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Elk River.   The yearly rainfall here at Elk River is about average; through July this area sees the most rain; the driest month is October.
