Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Tennessee tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. The Coal loading facility at base of Ligias Ridge to Gobey Bridge section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Not too many hotels nearby,
you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. And of course, there

This section of Emory River in Tennessee is 6.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. Whitewater paddling here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great experience.
Briefly about the general area: During the long summer days here at Emory River, high temperatures usually reach the 80's; the overnight is somewhat colder of course, typically in the 60's. For the period
of the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 40's with temperatures at Emory River dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. Emory River is a wet site that gets a good deal of rain; March is when you get the most rain here, and October is when it's the driest. Low Gap is near Emory River and is without doubt a perfect place to check out.
