If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Tennessee you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. County is 7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. The Emory River Canyon - Highway 62 to Nemo stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. The wild scenery of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip.
