The wonderful Hamilton County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. The Waldens Ridge to Soddy Daisy stretch of Falling Water Creek in Hamilton County is 2.5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V+ section by American Whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Chattanooga, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very
popular destination. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Falling Water Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Waldens Ridge to Soddy Daisy section is the only one.
Briefly about the general area: This river is a great place to visit. Throughout the summertime at Falling Water Creek temperatures are mostly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are commonly in the 40's,
and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Falling Water Creek. Nearby Pickett Gulf is a pleasant location to go if you're at Falling Water Creek, and a short journey to Barker Spring is always worthwhile. Why not go to Buzzard Point also since you're here, and Falling
Water Falls is a picturesque site to stop by while you're at Falling Water Creek. Falling Water Creek is a wet site that gets a great deal of rainfall; most of the rain falls throughout March, and October on the other hand is the driest.
