If you're coming from Cookevi lle it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.     You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is the only paddling stretch along Flat Creek. The scenic beauty of Overton County and the cool fresh water beats anything. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people.
