This stretch of French Broad is 8.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II(III) section. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. The nature scenery of Cocke County and the beautiful way the water current moves down     the stream have people coming here. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Del Rio to Bridgeport Market section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Briefly about the general area: White Rock Hollow is close to French Broad and is beyond doubt a tremendous spot to stop at; the Meadow Creek Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. Summertime at French Broad comes with high temperatures in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's.   Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for French Broad.
