The Camp Ground Road to East Fork Obey stretch of Hurricane Creek in Fentress County is 4 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in location is a short drive from Crossville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors
are great attractions for lots of people. The beautiful scenery of Fentress County and the water flowing gracefully down Hurricane Creek will make you feel great. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have
reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The Camp Ground Road to East Fork Obey section is the only paddling section along Hurricane Creek. The river winds through the Cumberland Plateau Mountains and you get great scenery.
