This stretch of Island Creek is 6 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Whitewater paddling here in the Cumberland     Plateau Mountains is a great experience. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Catoosa Road to Catoosa Bridge stretch is one of them. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip.
