If you're coming from Sevierville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Tennessee is often tougher than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The wonderful Sevier/Blount County scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is a great plus for this river. This section of Little River in Tennessee is 7 miles
long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. There's camping available near Little River. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time
in nature have a lot of people coming here. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Bridge at Elkmont to Sinks stretch is just one of them. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
Briefly about the general area: Laurel Falls is a stunning location to take a look at while you're at Little River, and while you're here, you might as well
stop at Cherry Gap. All the water falling down from the sky makes Little River a wet place; through March this area sees the most rain; October meanwhile is the driest month. That right there is lots of cool stuff already but it goes on, the Great Smoky Mountains has it all.
There is a good hiking trail near Little River called the Laurel Falls Trail, and everyone close by loves skiing at Ober Gatlinburg. This river is always fun. Near Little River you discover the Jakes Creek Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail. Summertime highs at Little River
ordinarily tend to be in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while Little River overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's.
