Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Tennessee is often tougher than elsewhere, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Sevierville, as you can see on the road map further down. This section of Little River is 10 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Townsend to Dam at Melrose section is just one of them. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping
bag too. There are many good hotels to choose from, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The wonderful Tennessee scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Little River make the trip here worthwhile. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking
around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people.
Briefly about the general area: Little River typically gets a great deal of rainfall; throughout the month of March you get the most rain around here while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Little River during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's.
During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; nighttime lows at Little River through the winter typically sink into the 20's. Webb Cove is right next door to Little River and is unquestionably a glorious spot to go to, and if you want to visit some interesting stuff, visit Emert Bluff.
