Tennessee whitewater - Little Clear Creek, Cumberland Plateau Mountains, -blank- County Highway 62 to Lily section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS IV-V     3 miles   This stretch of Little Clear Creek in Tennessee is 3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V section. The starting point is not too far from Harriman, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The wonderful -blank- County scenery and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors     are great reasons to come. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Tennessee you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Highway 62 to Lily section is just one of many. The Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is wonderful. This is a somewhat short section so no need to bring snacks. Briefly about the general area: Little Clear Creek sees pretty high levels of precipitation; most of the rain falls all through March; October on the other hand is the driest. Summertime   brings highs in the 80's to Little Clear Creek, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Little Clear Creek are in the 20's. Don't leave Little Clear Creek without first paying a visit to Lilly Rapids It's always nice to go to Jacks Rock Falls. So much exciting stuff to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains, not enough time.
