If you're coming from Harriman it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The natural beauty of Morgan County and the water flowing gracefully down Little Emory River make the trip here worthwhile. The campgrounds here at Little Emory River are pretty good. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. There are a few other stretches in this
river system that can be paddled as well. Whitewater paddling here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great experience. This stretch of Little Emory River is 4 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. The nearby hotels are a
bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners.
