The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Harriman, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Tennessee and the water flowing gracefully down Little Emory River have people coming here. This stretch of Little Emory River in Morgan County is 4 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve
in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. The Ford Close to Right Fork to Kring Hollow Road section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system.
The beautiful Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is an added bonus. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The average Tennessee whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.
Briefly about the general area: Summer at Little Emory River comes with high temperatures in the
80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Little Emory River dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. Man, is there a lot of amusing things to do in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains.
Little Emory River sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is commonly March, that's the one that rains the most, and October meanwhile is the driest month. Walls Hollow is a tremendous spot to have a look at close by; McGee Spring is a scenic place to visit while you're at Little Emory River.
