The natural beauty of Overton/Fentress County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Crossville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a short paddling stretch so no need to bring snacks. This stretch of Little Hurricane Creek is 1.5 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to
American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The beauty of the Cumberland Plateau
Mountains is a great plus for this river. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here.

When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Little Hurricane Creek. A tremendous spot near Little Hurricane Creek is Balden Gulf. The high level of rainfall
