The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Tennessee are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The wild scenery of the Great Smoky Mountains is great. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The beautiful scenery of Polk County and the playfulness     of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This is a pretty short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. There are no other sections to paddle along Little Loss Creek than the into Big Loss Creek section. There's camping available near Little Loss Creek. Briefly about the general area: The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Little Loss Creek. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets   highs in the 40's, and night lows at Little Loss Creek through the winter mostly drop into the 20's. That right there is loads of exciting things already but it goes on, the Great Smoky Mountains has it all. Going for a hike on the Oswald Dome Trail is always a tremendous adventure. Go for a hike on the Rogers Branch Trail; Big Hollow is positively a perfect location to check out. All the water falling down from the sky makes Little Loss Creek a wet place; March is the wettest month with most rain while October is mostly the driest month.
