This section of Little Pigeon River - Middle Prong in Sevier County is 1.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV+ section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Tennessee are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The natural beauty of Tennessee and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. system is full of great paddling stretches, the Ramsey's Cascade trailhead to Porters Creek confluence stretch is just one of them. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Some people
prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The Great Smoky Mountains scenery is wonderful. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. This stretch is short so better bring some good walking shoes.
