The Ramsey's Cascade trailhead to Porters Creek confluence stretch of Little Pigeon River - Middle Prong in Tennessee is 1.5 miles long and has been rated as a class IV+ section by American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Sevierville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. There are campgrounds quite near the
river where you can camp. This section is quite short so no need to bring snacks. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Tennessee is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The wonderful
Tennessee scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
