  The Chimneys Trailhead to Chimneys Picnic Area stretch of Little Pigeon River - Middle Prong is 1.75 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V section. The average Tennessee whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general
    area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The starting location is a short drive from Sevierville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. When you're paddling down a Great Smoky Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along
the way too. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. No need to look hard for hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The nature scenery of Tennessee and the cool fresh water beats anything. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too.
