The scenic beauty of Tennessee and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is a great plus for this river. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Chimneys Trailhead to Chimneys Picnic Area stretch is just one of many. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The campgrounds
    here at Little Pigeon River - Middle Prong are pretty good. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. Lodging is available near
the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Tennessee tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This stretch of Little Pigeon River - Middle Prong in Sevier County is 1.75 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V section.
