The Chimneys Trailhead to Chimneys Picnic Area stretch of Little Pigeon River - Middle Prong is 1.75 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V section. The average Tennessee whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general
area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The starting location is a short drive from Sevierville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. When you're paddling down a Great Smoky Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along
