  The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Tennessee are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The put-in is not too far from Sevierville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The nature scenery of Tennessee and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The Chimneys Picnic Area to Campbell Overlook section is one of many
    paddling sections in this river system. No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there
are lots of good spots for that around here. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. This stretch of Little Pigeon River - West Prong is 2.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V section of whitewater. The wild scenery of the Great Smoky Mountains is great.

just explore all the fun things to do in the Great Smoky Mountains. Hant Hollow is a glorious spot to pop by nearby, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a very good place to stop at.
Gotta ski! Ober Gatlinburg is a good spot to do that; the Sugarland Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. This is such a fun river. Throughout the warm days of summer at Little Pigeon River - West Prong temperatures are mostly in the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows at Little Pigeon River - West Prong all through the winter usually fall into the 20's.
