The Chimneys Picnic Area to Campbell Overlook section is one of many     paddling sections in this river system. No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. This stretch of Little Pigeon River - West Prong is 2.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V section of whitewater. The wild scenery of the Great Smoky Mountains is great.
