  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Tennessee is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. If you're coming from Sevierville it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great
    attractions for lots of people. The Campbell Overlook to 1st bridge in Gatlinsburg section of Little Pigeon River - West Prong in Tennessee is 2.6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-V section. The wonderful Sevier County scenery and the beautiful way the
water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is a short paddling stretch so no need to bring snacks. There's camping available near Little Pigeon River - West Prong. The river winds through the Great Smoky Mountains and you get great scenery. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well.

Trail; Great Smoky Mountains National Park is one of the destinations that are perfect to stop by close by. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Little Pigeon River - West Prong. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. During the winter the highs are mostly in the 40's while Little Pigeon River - West Prong night low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's.
You completely should go for the Great Smoky Mountains. Very beautiful scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Ober Gatlinburg, and Little Pigeon River - West Prong is right by the Sugarland Mountain Trail. This is a great river. Little Pigeon River - West Prong is a pretty wet place mostly with a great deal of precipitation; through March this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is October.
