  The starting location is a short drive from Sevierville, as you can see on the road map further down. The Gatlinsburg to 1st bridge in Pigeon Forge stretch of Little Pigeon River - West Prong is 6.6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. The river winds through the Great Smoky Mountains and you get great scenery. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. For
    all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The natural beauty of Sevier County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number
of good places. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. Lodging is available near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Gatlinsburg to 1st bridge in Pigeon Forge stretch is just one of them.

spot; March is the wettest month with most rain while October is regularly the driest month. This river is a wonderful place to visit. Little Pigeon River - West Prong is right by the Cove Mountain Trail.
For the period of the long summer days at Little Pigeon River - West Prong highs are generally in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are typically in the 40's, and night lows at Little Pigeon River - West Prong through the winter mostly plunge into the 20's. So much exciting stuff to do in the Great Smoky Mountains, not sufficient time. If you're here, you might as well visit Long Hollow, and a day on the slopes of Ober Gatlinburg is just what you need. Visiting Great Smoky Mountains National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and Dudley Bluff is something you shouldn't miss while you're here.
