The starting point is not too far from Crossville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Little Piney Creek in Rhea County is 1.75 miles long and is a class III-IV(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Grandview TenNorth to Piney River stretch is one of them. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. This is a pretty short section so you'll
have to walk back to the start over and over. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. The nature scenery
of Rhea County and the water flowing gracefully down Little Piney Creek attract people from near and far. Whitewater paddling here in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great experience. The campgrounds here at Little Piney Creek are pretty good. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving.

Falls is a delightful local attraction It's always tremendous to take a look at Lower Piney Falls. Little Piney Creek is a wet site that gets a great deal of precipitation; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and October on the other hand is the driest.
Whiteoak Bottoms is an interesting thing to catch a glimpse of if you're here at Little Piney Creek; if you're here why not explore Shut in Gap. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Little Piney Creek. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Little Piney Creek.
