The wonderful Tennessee scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Little Piney Creek beats anything. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. The starting point is not too far from Crossville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There are nice comfortable hotels here, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors
are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is a pretty short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The Grandview TenNorth to Piney River section of Little Piney Creek in Rhea County is 1.75 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class
III-IV(V+) section. The Cumberland Plateau Mountains scenery is wonderful. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The Grandview TenNorth to Piney River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system.

Piney Creek usually gets lots of precipitation; March is the month that gets the most rain while October is typically the driest month. All year is a splendid time in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains if you like the outdoors. Upper Piney Falls is a beautiful place to check
out while you're at Little Piney Creek, and Lower Piney Falls is always fun to check out. This is such a great river. Summertime at Little Piney Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Little Piney Creek are in the 20's.
