  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This stretch of Little River - Middle Prong is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. If you're coming from Sevierville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The wonderful Tennessee scenery and the cool
    fresh water have people coming here. This is a somewhat short section so better bring some good walking shoes. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whether you're whitewater
rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The Lynn Camp and Thunderhead Prong Confluence to Tremont Institute section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. When you're paddling down a Great Smoky Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come.

Smoky Mountains. Summertime highs at Little River - Middle Prong commonly tend to be in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 40's with temperatures at Little River - Middle Prong dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
Big Hollow is a good place to explore right next door to Little River - Middle Prong; hiking along the Meigs Mountain Trail is nice fun. Little River - Middle Prong typically gets a great deal of rainfall; through the month of March you get the most rain around here, and October is when it's the driest.
