This section of Little River - West Prong is 6 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The campgrounds here at Little River - West Prong are pretty good. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve
in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The put-in location is a short drive from Sevierville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The beautiful
scenery of Tennessee and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is a great plus for this river. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip.
