The starting location is a reasonable drive from Sevierville, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The Confluence with Laurel Creek to West Prong of Little River stretch of Little River - West Prong in Blount County is 3 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming
back for more. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The wonderful Blount County scenery and the cool fresh water have people coming here.
No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. The beautiful Great Smoky Mountains scenery is an added bonus. This section is quite short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over.

Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Little River - West Prong are in the 20's. A good place to visit in close proximity to Little River - West Prong is Finley Cove, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Anthony Creek Trail.
The high level of precipitation makes Little River - West Prong a relatively wet place; March is the wettest month with most rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the Great Smoky Mountains has to offer.
