The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Tennessee are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The wonderful Marion County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Little Sequatchie are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Since you're on this site     you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. This section of Little Sequatchie is 7 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There are some good hotels near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Indian Creek to Sequatchie River stretch is just one of many. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. There's camping available near Little Sequatchie. Briefly about the general area: Why not stop at Jones Point also if you're here. A short spree to Blowing Spring is always worthwhile,   and a great spot to explore is Alum Cove. The high level of rain makes Little Sequatchie a reasonably wet spot; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is June. Summertime highs at Little Sequatchie generally tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Little Sequatchie.
