If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. If you're coming from Chattanooga it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Little Soddy Creek in Tennessee is 1.6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V+ section. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good
walking shoes. The beauty of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is a great plus for this river. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system,
the Hotwater Road to Back Valley Road section is just one of many. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The scenic beauty of Hamilton County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.

Soddy Creek at all; a spree to Hineman Spring will fill your soul with glorious feelings. Little Soddy Creek regularly gets a lot of rain; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain while October is typically the driest month. Having a glorious time in
the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is uncomplicated. It's always splendid to stop by Iris Lovelady Spring. All through the warm months at Little Soddy Creek highs are generally in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Little Soddy Creek dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
