This section of Little Soddy Creek in Hamilton County is 1.6 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Soddy Creek beats anything. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Tennessee tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to
come. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Hotwater Road to Back Valley Road section is just one of many. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The wild scenery of the Cumberland Plateau Mountains is great. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The campgrounds here at Little Soddy Creek are pretty good.
